BOSS

Frequently Asked Questions

What BOSS is, where its numbers come from, and what it does and doesn't do with your data.

What is BOSS?

BOSS (Bible of Options Strategies System) is a live reference for options strategies: 58 classic strategies, each built from today's BTC and ETH options on Deribit, OKX and Bybit, with its payoff, Greeks, breakevens and real cost to trade, and a plain-language explanation of how each one works.

Who is it for?

For anyone learning or trading crypto options. Newcomers can follow the Get Started guide and read the concept articles; experienced traders use the strategy pages, the Scanner and the Dashboard to compare structures and venues on live numbers.

Is anything here investment advice?

No. BOSS shows prices and explains how strategies work; it never tells you what to buy or sell, and nothing on the site is a recommendation. Options can lose money quickly. See the Disclaimer for the full terms.

Can I place a trade through BOSS?

No. BOSS is read-only: it has no account, no connection to any exchange and cannot place, change or cancel an order. To practise without risk, open any strategy as a simulated position in Paper trading; to trade for real, use the exchange directly.

Where do the prices come from, and how fresh are they?

From the public market-data feeds of Deribit, OKX and Bybit, streamed as they change, usually within seconds. If a feed stops, the strategy page says the prices are stale and since when. Always check the price on the exchange before trading.

Which exchanges and assets are covered?

Deribit, OKX and Bybit, for BTC and ETH options. Every strategy page, the Scanner and the Dashboard let you switch exchange and asset, and the strategy page compares the same structure across all three.

Why do BOSS's costs differ from the mid price?

Because BOSS prices what trading would really cost: buying each leg at the ask, selling at the bid, plus the exchange's fee. The mid price, halfway between bid and ask, is shown too, but nobody fills at it. The difference is the cost of crossing the spread.

Are these the same options I'd trade on the exchange?

Yes, the exact listed contracts. They are European options settled in cash at expiry. On Deribit and OKX, BTC and ETH options are quoted and settled in the coin itself; BOSS converts every price to US dollars so the venues can be compared.

Is BOSS free, and what does it store about me?

It is free and needs no account. Cookies are set only if you accept them: your language, exchange and asset, and Google Analytics. Your watchlist, simulated positions and guide progress stay in your own browser's storage and are never sent to BOSS.

I'm new to options. Where should I start?

With the Get Started guide, a five-minute tour that uses live data, and then the Learn section, which explains each concept, from calls and puts to the Greeks and implied volatility, with worked examples.
