Introduction

BOSS is a real-time catalog and exploration tool for option strategies. For each of the roughly 58 strategies it catalogs -- from a simple long call to multi-leg structures like an iron condor or a ratio backspread -- it shows:

• The strategy's classification across six dimensions: proficiency, directional bias, volatility outlook, risk profile, reward profile, and income vs. capital-gain type.
• The strategy's content in book format: a description, how to set it up, when to use it, its risk profile, pros and cons, how time and volatility affect it, and similar ("look-alike") strategies.
• The strategy's legs -- which options are bought or sold, and at what strikes.
• A live instance of the strategy, automatically built from strikes near the money and the nearest available expiry, with profit/loss, Greeks, and breakeven prices recalculated from the current market as it moves.
